Scott Turman

Scott Turman is an American entrepreneur, author, and technologist, and the founder and CEO of BrightRay Publishing. He was born Arthur Scott Turman in Houston, Texas, and lives in Maitland, Florida.

Scott spent the first part of his career writing software and designing cryptographic systems for NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, Disney, and a long list of Fortune 500 companies. He started his first company in 1999 and has worked as a technology consultant for more than 25 years.

His first book, Stop Getting Fu*cked by Technical Recruiters: A Nerd's Guide to Negotiating Salary and Benefits, reached Amazon's top 10 in its category, and it showed him what a book can do for a career. That became BrightRay Publishing, a Winter Park, Florida company that writes, publishes, and markets books for executives and entrepreneurs who don't have time to write one themselves. He followed it with How to Build Your Brand with a Book and Conversations That Convert.

Scott hosts Entrepreneurs, Executives, & Eccentrics, a podcast of long-form conversations with founders and unconventional thinkers. He has commented on technology and business for TRT World, Asharq News, Forbes, and the International Business Times.

Space runs in the family. His father, Arthur Turman, was a NASA engineer on Mercury-Atlas 7, and Scott is named after that mission's astronaut, Scott Carpenter.
